Hello,

I've just bought a 2005 Breva 750 IE and the only problem so far is that it's pouring oil out of the overflow hose. The original one cracked so I found a puddle under the bike the first morning. Changed both of the hoses for a new ones to make sure it won't happen again, but there's still oil in the tube after every ride.

I went through the topics here and too much oil seems to be the most common reason for this. I don't have too much oil in there.

BUT, looking at the parts diagram, there's supposed to be a PCV valve in the hose connecting airbox to the oil sump, but my bike doesn't have one. Is it supposed to be there on all years or was it a part added later on and it's correct that my bike doesn't have it? I guess this could possibly cause this? The engine pulling oil through the hose into the intake due to the PCV valve not being there?

The purpuse of a PCV valve is to allow air to escape the crankcase, but not return. Having the valve in the line will help. The 750 engine doesn't have that much oil in the crankcase, but it you keep seeking the fill mark, it will pump oil out. So lonk as the oil level is between the fill and add marks, you are OK. If you can get a PCV valve, I do recommend adding it to the line.
