Hi

Just wondering if anyone uses the Hepco Becker C-Bow Mounting System. I am thinking of this and the Street Soft Bag set.

It looks like a pretty solid setup, but I would be interested in opinions. I have a Hepco Becker Luggage Rack and Kappa K35 Monolock Top Box already, and would only be using the side luggage for Multi Day Trips. I like the fact that the C-Bow mounts look like they would not be too overbearing when the bags are not installed.

Thanks very much for any input. Any other ideas for side luggage (hard or soft) would also be appreciated, especially those that don't require taking out a mortgage to buy them.

When I bought my Breva, it came as a special offer, with soft expandable Guzzi bags.
Not far into its second ?(mebbe third ) USA tour, one of the bag frame bolts vibrated loose, the arm dropped, and first thing we knew was a loud bang as a tin of polish exploded, on stopping we were instantly enveloped in a cloud of noxious smoke.
The exhaust had burned through the bottom and destroyed the contents of the bag. Made a mess of the exhaust too.
So after using locktite on the bag frame bolts, we got a set of saddlemen bags.
Still soft, but they have the cross strap, so if the frame fails in any way, the bags stay above the pipes.

OK we did buy a sheet of adhesive heat shield, from Cheshire Ribbon UK.
I still sanded the bases cleaned them w acetone, then used contact cement, to back up the sticky backing on the heat shield.
check the differences here:

Hi Motoguzziman

Thanks for the tip about the cross strap to back up the frame. The Hepco Becker set up I am looking at has the cross strap. I was wondering whether I really needed to use it.

You answered that question for me!

Thanks

I have the Tourmaster set which can strap over or under the seat and the top case snaps into the side bags. Easy to take on and off and when they are off there is no unsightly frame. BTW the MG T-shirt and hat were Christmas gifts.....I don't normally wear all MG stuff

The bags look great, and so do the shirt and cap. I got a T-Shirt and watch too. What the heck, we might as well advertise our fine choice in Motorcycles!

Well it sure makes my wife's Christmas and birthday shopping a lot easier ;)

Thanks for the Ebay link. Those bags are made by Krauser, but are exactly the same as the Hepco Becker Bags I am thinking about. I wonder if Krauser and Hepco Becker are the same company?

I will probably end up ordering from this UK company:

Their prices are better than anyone else, and their service is good (I got my rear rack from them).
