2004 750 breva w/45k miles surging badly. the throttle body rod ends (threaded plastic cups) are worn/sloppy fit to throttle linkage. the only parts that need replacing are the ends, but, only available as a complete rod assy. for a $118 . obviously would prefer a less expensive fix . have already replaced plugs, fuel filter, and no improvement until i shimmed some of the slop out of one of the throttle rod cups and attempted synching throttle bodies via the threaded throttle body rod . better but still needs help. idle screws set at one turn out. i live and ride at7500 ft. altitude, so usually rides are from 6000-10,000 ft elevation. thin air up here in nm. thanks for any and all comments .

Your best bet is to replace the rod assembly. BTW, the best way to sync is to use the screw near the left TB that has a 7mm hex head. That moves the plate assembly at the TB to achieve sync. Best to leave the threaded rod alone as much as possible. See pages 97 to 100 of this file https://www.guzzitech.com/MGGriso/Manual ... iceMan.pdf. It is for the 1100, but the 750 uses a similar system.
