I was going to work this morning when the engine just died without warning. It just felt and behaved like sudddenly going onto empty.
There was still half a tank full of petrol. I checked the fuses, which were all o.k.
I could turn the engine with the starter motor a few times until lthe battery was flat, but it just did not fire up again.
There was no smell of unburnt fuel though and I think there was no humming of the fuel pump priming.

Has anyone had this happen to him/her?

Is this potentially the fuel pump?

Any repair options?

Ralf

Further to yesterdays breakdown I have connected the netbook with DucatiDiag this morning.
I also tried to listen for the fuel pump prime with removing the tank yet. There is definetely a clicking sound from within the tank, not a humming sound though.
What kind of sound should the fuel pump make?

The trouble codes I got with DucatiDiag are:
P0560 System Voltage Malfunction
P0351 Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P0352 Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

Going through some "tests" with Ducatidiag I get an Ok for "Pump", without specification of which pump it is testing.

Any ideas?

Ralf
