I read a posting re Helibars and thought I need them on my Norge being vertically challenged (5' 6").
Even though they are a little expensive I attempted to order a set on line, but they don't mail to Oz. I contacted Helibars and they advised there is an agent in Oz that you must buy through. That is Ron Hone in Melbourne, great I live in Newcastle, anyway I contacted Ron.
I have now installed the bars about 3 weeks later and rode the bike for the first time at the weekend. Thanks to Ron for the great service, they sent them overnight to Newy from Melbourne as soon as they arrived from the USA.
My first impression was this feels great, my second, and final impression was I should have done this sooner they have changed the way I feel on the bike. My low speed control is fantastic, no more wobbling about when coming to a stop. I can now comfortably turn full lock when pulling out from the kerb and maintain full clutch control whilst looking over my shoulder for on coming traffic. When out on the twisty bits I can dip it in to corners so much easier than before and feel heaps more comfortable doing it. Its a brand new bike to me those bars are the best thing I have bought for for the Norge. My advise to shorties out there is to buy a set you wont look back, you can always come and try mine before you invest in them if you like.
Two bad things but, my wife still has little naps on the back, I now have no excuse and need to go harder, and my tank bag needs to make way for a narrower one, but does it really matter if I loose both of them?
