Well it has been an interesting week, some false starts, a machine break down and a lot of cussing, head scratching and general suck it and see engineering, but yesterday we had a prototype completed. Needs some tweaking of the computer files and some design changes but next week we will be making prototype version II. After that if all goes well, I might even take orders!

Stay tuned for the next installment..... B)

Re:A new Shed project!

That's a mighty fine looking hole you're making there Mike.

I have spares on my bench I'd be willing to send you if you need more. All you need is to add edges to them if you need them:p

Re:A new Shed project!

Steady on - who you calling old! Them's fightin words..... I'm still going up the hill. Drama Queen?? well lets just not go there...

Holes, yeah wouldn't mind a few more, send em over will ya. We made quite a few and the bloody computer made them square and then filled them up, must have one of them virus thingys.

Coolant, what's that? I was blowing on the cutter with a drinking straw for a while, but I got a bit dizzy. Actually I had a squeeze bottle of kero in my other hand - ever tried to take a movie while squirting lubricant around?

Slow speed? Man I was peddling as fast as I could, squirting lubricant, taking a movie and blowing coolant with a straw all while trying to decide if the Guzzi was worth it - what more do you want?

Re:A new Shed project!

There is only room for one drama queen in the South...and it ain't Mike C!! :p

Re:A new Shed project!

:eek:hmy: :eek:hmy: Wow Mike,:side: :silly: :eek:hmy: Steady as she goes. Now will have to check back sooner for the next installment.

HMMMM:unsure:
Custom B-1100 muffler end cap????
Really cool Guiness can chiller???

Re:A new Shed project!

Hey Mike....

Does it take a long time to carve out a whole Guzzi using that method????

Re:A new Shed project!

I'll let you know when I have one finished. If Guzzi aren't going to sell me a Stelvio, I'll bloody well make me one.

Re:A new Shed project!

If I sent you the rediculous stock X-Over on the left ...Would you just GRIND IT UP for me??:woohoo: So I we all could watch.

Re:A new Shed project!

Well we are on the way down to the wire, and things are looking pretty spiffy if I do say so meself. Fit is bloody perfect, anodized finish is amazing, and now for the piece da resistance (sorry René) check out the pic.

Final machining and fitting will be after Easter, stay tuned! B)

Re:A new Shed project!

You will struggle to see much through that visor you've made. B)

Re:A new Shed project!

It's a nice jigsaw enigma, except that we don't have all the pieces. If it's a triple head plate, it's not one for a Breva or Norge in any case ;)

BTW ... how much are MG paying you to display this proudly, wherever it's supposed to go?

Re:A new Shed project!

Visors are completely over rated things when it comes to seeing through them, why do you need to see where you're going anyway - my riding style is definitely close the eyes, roll the throttle, hang on and hope, so no need for a clear visor.

WIth the number of pieces it sure feels like a jigsaw, and I'm a complete noob at this CNC lark, I feel much more comfortable with wood, but in this application it just wouldn't cut the mustard.

Payment from MG, I wish...... Actually I am hoping that you lot are going to pay me lotsa mulla to put that nice little logo on YOUR bikes, and there are three other versions and I might even do custom ones. :woohoo:

Oh and BTW you are getting warmer but colder....

Erm ... head guards?

Nope, crashing is an overrated activity and farkles to prevent crash damage are not a discretionary spend and therefore don't justify shed time.

We are going riding over Easter (but that's another story), I'll be back in the Shed on Monday - stay tuned.
