Breva questions while I have parts strewn all over the shop.

Hello all:

I am in the process of removing the evap. canister, rerouting the associated tubing, along with installing an Eastern Beaver twin horn wiring loom with Fiamm highway blaster horns, topped off with handle bar risers from Moto International.

1) While performing the canisterectomy, I see a braided stainless steel hose with a rubber tipped fitting that fits/rests on top of the plastic battery cover. I notice that it is very close to the negative terminal, and no matter how I route it, it remains close to the terminal. What is this thing ? Has anyone had issues with the proximity to the battery teminal ?

2) Where has anyone else found to be a good location to mount the 2 Fiamm units. I am thinking I will be fabbing up some sort of mount to locate them under the headlamp unit. Any ideas on another location ??

3) The M.I. risers are going to require me to get some longer brake hose (s), just not enough slack with what I have. I doubt this will be much of an issue, I intend to measure what I have and order +2 - 3" on the master cylinder side of the fitting to the brake calipers. Any thoughts on who has a good product, type favored and why?

That's it, gotta go down to H.F. and get some more nitral gloves tomorrow and get back to playing with the bike.
Any photos of your set up would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help

kjf

Re: Breva questions while I have parts strewn all over the s

I can only answer #1 right now, that is the remote clutch bleed line. Zero issues with it near the negative battery terminal.

Re: Breva questions while I have parts strewn all over the s

If the MI risers are like heli bars, you think you don't have enough brake line, but you do. With the heli bars, You have to line them up and lever the bar into position. Check with the guys at MI and you may find it is the same technique to install their risers.

I used Galfer brake lines to make my HeliBars work. I added about 1.5 inch to the MC leg. Galfers were recommended by Helibar and bought them at a local Cycle Gear. Decent quality at a price lower than Spieglers. IIRC, the banjos were adjustable but I had to use the tool that came with Speigler lines.
