2015 V7 special, When I bought the bike I got the crash bar option from the dealership. After a few hundred miles I noticed alot of vibration in-between 4k and 5k in any gear, I didn't think too much of it until I started hearing a rattle sound too. Tracking it down I found out it was the broken frame bolt rattling around (pictured) I went to a hardware store and bought a steel bolt to replace the aluminum one and not even 50 miles later the bolt on the other side breaks too. I went and bought another steel bolt but removed the crash bar completely. The bike still does vibrate a bit more in-between 4k and 5k but not anywhere near as bad as with the bar on, I figure this little bit of vibration is what caused the bar to break the bolts.

Has this happened to anyone else with a crash bar? I would really like to put it back on but the vibration is too bad and I dont want it snapping any more bolts. I do mostly freeway riding at 70-75mph which is right at around 4500rpm.

maybe Ill have to get a different crash bar? 20151114 1403561 20160508 1228101 20160508 1228311

First, I'd like to point out that the bolts are NOT aluminum. They could be stainless steel, which is softer than non-stainless. For this application, it would probably be best to use chrome plated steel, instead of stainless.

Second, I had an OEM crash bar on my '13 V7 Stone and have an Agostini bar on my '16 V7II Stone (nearly identical to the older OEM bar). Over a combined total of nearly 25,000 miles, I've had no excessive vibration and no sheared bolts. I believe that your bike has a vibration problem that is the root cause of your crash bar problems.
