hi iv a problem wit my 1995 cali 1100i i get a flat spot when i open the trottleat all speeds and revs. so far iv replaced the fuel pump the filter and the fuel regulator and still have the same problem would any body have any ideas. regards nick

Hi Nick, welcome to the Forum, you made it.

Tough one to diagnose via the internet, however you have the large (underseat) P8 ECU, correct? Is it giving you any error codes on the LED near the ECU? Your problem is likely electrical related (i.e. ECU, TPS, coils, etc.).

the bike is also running lean
I take it you do not have a service manual, correct? There is a small set screw in the ECU that adjusts fueling. It is limited to ~270º of adjustment. Any more will damage the ECU.

As Todd said, there is a set screw found behind a white plug on the right side of teh ECU. Turn CCW to richen. Try a quarter turn to start then increments of an eighth. If you have access to a CO meter, try for 2.5 to 3 % CO.

thanks todd iv tried that the bike is still the same. parts are hard to optain easy here in ireland kind of a long process tou could say.give me a carb model any day. would any one know if its messy changing from fuel injection to carbs.

Very messy. Change harness, use the carbed ignition box. Also it is nearly impossible to get and keep the carb's synchronized with the stock setup. The system uses a single cable from the grip to a plastic housing splitter. The splitter is a piece of crap that causes all the problems.

st found today the new pump and the old pump are only putting 2 bar or slightly less they are 3 bar pumps any one know any reason for this at all the pump number is bosch 0580464048 would they be the proper pump someone was at the bike before i bought it so im not so sure wats rite or wats not

Are you taking the pressure reading at the pump with the pressure regulator out of the circuit? It appears that you have the correct fuel pump. https://www.guzzitech.com/FuelPumpRepl.html

Is the TPS advancing smoothly? Whle using one of the diagnostic tools is easiest you can do this quite adequately with a volt or ohm meter. Any sudden changes in voltage or resistance would indicate a mucky or buggered TPS which usually manifests itself as spluttering and farting off idle.

the bike starts lovely whit or without the choke idles lovely pulls away lovely untill i give her a bit of trottle then she dies, if i give her the trottle very slowly its not so bad but still not good either

There is no choke. Ony a fast idle lever. Cold engine enrichment is taken care of by the ECU but the lever is there to enable the revs to be lifted a bit when the oilk is thick and viscous.

As I said, check the TPS. Then ensure the phase sensor hasn't gone O/C. If it has the bike will idle but will die as soon as the throttle is opened.
