California 1400 touring

Im hoping to run it thru the ignition , so that i do not flatten the battery when bike is not being used < the bike is brand new and i have been told by the importers that i can fit the GPS myself but if i stuff up, it will void the warrantee! I am hoping that someone will know whether there is a plug under the tank which can be utilised, maybe the heated grip plug as, according to the owners handbook, there is a fuse for the heated grips/gps . I have ordered a workshop manual from the USA and am still waiting on it ( I must add that I can proudly say that i was the first owner of a Moto Guzzi California Special , the first owner of a Stelvio NTX and the first owner of a California Touring in the country ! I take my Guzzis seriously. but, dont know how long i can keep this up before my wife beats me to death , I am just a working class hero!]

My 12 Griso has a plug made for the Tom Tom GPS in the steering head area.. Guzzi lists the Tom Tom as an accessory on its website.. I would bet the same would apply if the gps is listed for your bike.

Charlie, you're probably the first one asking this question on the planet and you'll probably be the first to know the answer. Wait for the manual and let us know. I bet its like most CARC bikes, comes with a plug for a Tom Tom that's switched by the ignition.

In the mean time, charge it up at home then turn it on when you need it.

O.K. guys , got the workshop manual from America , there is a plug under the tank to power the GPS {i must admit that i get very sad when a bike doesnt have a centre stand]
