I am looking for advice for the best cam for my mk2 le mans based cafe racer.
Currently it is 1000cc, carrillo rods, cosworth pistons, gas flowed le mans heads 40mm carbs alloy flywheel, alloy straight cut timing gears, close ratio box and a norris 382 cam.
It is a bit too wild for the road, so i am after a cam that will give me a little more low end/midrange without losing all the topend.
Has anyone got anything suitable for sale?

Heh,

Very tasty Tonti there ......

I'm finishing up a very similar project and opted for a Megacycle 620X10 cam. Reports from the field have it that this is a good street performance cam. I'll be using stock rods, JE pistons w/ ~10.25:1 CR, Mike Rich heads w/ "mid-size" (stock size LM1-2) valves, 2-into-1 exh., & 40mm Dellortos. Some shots in process at the bottom here:

I believe you can get Megacycle cams from Mike Rich Motorsports, MG Cycle or Todd at GuzziTech.com - about $400USD

BTW Kompost,

What's the story on the swing arm? One-off? Adapted from another bike?

Also what forks are those? Marzocchi MR1's? If so, I'd like to pick your brain about the set-up since I'm using them (off a a '95 Sport 1100) on my project.

More photos SVP.

Thanks for the advice GD and ED.
That looks like a cool project GD, your engine spec is about the same as mine so i will give that cam a try.
The swing arm in mine is home made from alloy box, but i think it is flexing a bit so i am going to make a new one from steel box, should be easy enough, i still have the jig. The home made floating drive box seems to work well so that will stay, but i am going to make a new bracket from the box to the torque arm from stainless. The forks are early gsxr1100, and are crap but the brakes from the same are good, so i am going to strip the forks and try and sort out the damping.
Have you got any more pics of your's.
