I'm looking to purchase a reasonable second-hand or new camshaft for the Breva/Norge/Grisso 1100 model with part code of 05053331. Can any one help? Please PM me if you can.

I might have one as the guy who sold me the wrong one says there is a good Grisso engine to take apart and that should be ok. I had actually bought a replacement but after receiving it I did not think to put them side by side to compare until yesterday.

The left one is my Breva 1100 cam with lobe damage. The cam on the right is a replacement from a V11. The front of the cam has an extra seal on the Breva as this space forms the engine breather with a side take off to the an oil separator in front of the air box above.

The way the oil circulation works is that the route is first to the main bearings, up to the cam and out the front, as the cam is hollow. Must be hot by now so where best to take any moisture out via the engine vent pipe. Just my theory so I might be wrong.

Update. I swapped the incorrect cam for the correct with Reboot spares. It's not perfect as it has some loge pitting but it is better than my original one.

With as much work as you are putting into the bike it is a shame to use sub par parts. Don't you think the bike is worth a new cam shaft?

To update with my result, I had the camshaft reground by Kent Cams in the UK. There is a slight pit or two or three but very minor. Presumably they were too deep to grind out with a risk of removing the surface hardening. Sorry this is repeated in my restoration thread. 20170626 130405 1
