Hello

I could not find the answer to this in the search.
Does the 2017 V7 III use can-bus?
I am looking at some new lights and I keep seeing this on various websites.
"Newer vehicle electrical systems may require a CAN Bus bulb for operation."

Thanks
Maya

I believe it utilizes a partial CanBus. If you look at the wiring diagram, where you see the interlaced wiring ( looks like a sine and cosine wave combined) then that is CanBus.

Hmm, I don't see any sites listing partial CanBus headlights. I'll have to look closer. :p

You misunderstand me. Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. My bad.

The loom itself is Partially CanBus. Not the whole loom.

Looking at the wiring diagram, the headlight (42) does not appear to be CanBus. Standard wiring.

Another way to identify is to look at the wires physically. CanBus wires must be twisted together like that in order to function properly.

Both wires are twisted tightly together to ensure that electromagnetic interference affects the signal in both wires uniformly, limiting errors.

Thank you Scott.
The explanation is much appreciated, and the picture is, as they say, worth a thousand words for those of us who still like picture books. Now I know what to look for.
😃

You bet!

If you look at the wiring diagram, you will see instantly where the CanBus wires are. They are those twisted sine wave images.

Thanks for posting the info Scott.
At VERY best it's partial CANBUS. Nothing that runs the engine (ECU) is, only some communication from the speedo assy.
