Cancelling the "Spanner" icon

Just had my 10,000Km service done. Re-flashed the ECU back to original for the occasion. All finished, but the dealer (Mario - Thunderbikes) couldn't get his Guzzi software to even find my bike to reset to "spanner" icon. We tried his setup on another (stock standard) V7iii and all went as advertised. We gave up on mine, where upon I re-flashed the ECU back to The map I have from Todd. Btw, I have Todd's ECU Flash Tool for this purpose.

My question: Is there a user menu, or is there a method using Todd's ECU Flash Tool for me to reset the spanner icon?

I'm quite sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it.

I asked my buddy who works at Guzzi's engine development shop. The service notification is not part of the engine management software in the ECU ... it's developed by a completely different team of folks who do the instrument cluster, evidently. He asked them, and they said there was no way to reset it except for the factory diagnostic software.

A service shouldn't require reflashing the bike back to stock config. When I talked to the mechanic at my local dealership, he said he never does anything that touches the ECU engine programming unless there's an update available, and then he asks whether the customer wants it done first.

I'm very curious as to why the dealer diagnostic software couldn't reset the service notification. That seems very odd.

Happened to me in the early daze of my first Cali 1400. For the dealer to do the reset, their computer has to connect to the server at Mandello de Lario, and their annual subscription has to be up to date. I was told that the sub had been paid, and perhaps the bean counting department forgot to tell the service support department. Or, perhaps this was a prompt for the dealer to renew their subscription (which I understand is not insignificant).
