Cap mirrors...hex bolt size?

I removed my stock mirrors for a '13 Stone...I want to cap off where the mirrors were in place but can't find the right damn size hex bolt. Went to Ace and the m8 were too small and m10 were too big, they don't carry m9 anywhere it seems and I think that is what is needed, fine thread, 1/2 inch long probably. Has to be metric right...online you can only buy m9 hex bolts in bulk...anyone know other options or insight as to whether I'm wrong on this or not. Thanks.
 
Measure your mirror stems for dia. and thread pitch, or take them to the bolt shop so they can match them accurately.

I will do that. I'm almost positive it's an m9 hex bolt that I need...and finding a hex bolt in m9 is almost impossible. Sure as hell not buying in bulk. Thinking some sort of plug could be an alternative...or perhaps a threaded plug that will fit and a threaded bolt can be inserted into the plug.
 
I changed the clamp to a regular one. Much cleaner.
