huh my shifting sure is clunky.... oh:

20240518 184612

fortunately I have a vast stock of spares for this bike (b11), acquired over the years:

20240518 185644

one brief wrestling match with a ball joint press... thing...

20240519 141111

and, sorted. shifting is fantastic now, and on/off throttle transitions much smoother! so check your bushing once in a while, preferably sooner than me.

No more noise in the back end, no wheel hop, rattle, etc. Think you waited long enough? Worst one I've seen.
I got my money's worth! ...actually I'm quite annoyed I waited and suffered for so long, I was sidetracked/confused by the fact that my suspension linkage bearings also need to be replaced, so I thought the clunky sensations were coming from there.

feels like a new bike now!

This post slipped by me...when I bought my Breva in 2013, someone here whispered "Stelvio silent block". Turned out to be a "must" upgrade! What an improvement (there were others for sure).
A few years later, I did the same to my Griso. Also bought a spare (a $10 investment). Is there a 1200 Sport in my future??
Anything that came later does not excite me :(

yea... I seem to remember at one point there was some discussion about which bushing was better. I believe the one that failed for me was actually a part from a Ford car. then when the Stelvio NTX came out, Guzzi came out with this improved version.

is that right? 🤔 I don't quite recall...

My original one was all steel (no give). I never heard of the Ford one (good thing by the looks of it!). I did it about 80K km ago, no problem since, so the Stelvio one is likely good.

oh right! wow if yours lasted 80k kms, I should be sorted for a long time

Correction: Looking at my records, I have had the B that long, the mod was done about 55K ago. Buying a spare is cheap insurance.
