Anybody else had trouble with their center stand? The leverage bar on mine is bent just a tad. Still works but now the stand can't rotate fully down as the leverage bar hits the ground before the 2 feet are fully flat.

Re: Centre stand bent

Had that happen on my Norge, once by my own actions (do NOT *force* the bike up on the stand...), once when the bike went down after I got rear-ended at a traffic light. So I'm at my 3rd stand...

Dealer was convinced warranty would be rejected on the 1st stand ... and to be honest, the 86€ or so it cost me were totally insignificant compared to the amount of the other repairs required :S

As heavy as the bike is, the way the stand is shaped, and the height that it lifts the bike, all make it hard to get on the stand. You have to lift the bike AND press down hard on that lever to get it on the stand. It would be better to cut a little off the thing and not try to lift the bike so high.
If I were a good welder.......

Re:Centre stand bent

Forcing, as in insisting when the bike doesn't come up in a smooth movement, trying to put more than your natural weight on the tang, that sort of thing. Since I've learned one can bend the lever too easily, I no longer try to put the bike on the stand against a visible slope (i.e. nose pointing downhill).

Trying to turn the bike once she's up probably isn't a very good idea either...

I think the centre stand is one of the few parts that are really not very well designed. The stand is high, and too often, the bike ends up doing some sort of equilibrium act because neither wheel has enough weight to keep it down solidly.

I have been waiting for a replacement for 2 months now

Did you ever get your new centerstand? And I wanted to reopen this thread to see if anyone else has had a problem with their centerstand?

I finally got around to turning mine in for a replacement. It is now bent beyond any possible use. Guzzi has agreed to replace it under warranty, now we just have to find one somewhere in the world.

Re: Centre stand bent

Great news they accepted to take it under warranty!

On all my earlier Guzzis, the center stand have been superb. An easy roll up, much better then Nipponeses and BM Wobbel-U.
Stelvios stand is a scandal!
