Cheapo Seat Relief

Here is my cheapo ($10) seat relief pad. I got a 12"x12" piece of seat foam on Ebay. Cut it into 7", 4" and 1" strips, glued them together, and trimmed and sanded to fit the shape of the seat. Then I attached the pad to the seat with an elastic strap (tied in a knot under the seat). It isn't pretty but it works great to level the seat and make it much more comfortable. And I figure I could always stick it under a sheepskin cover....

You're right, it isn't pretty. I've been trying to understand all the comments about the seat sloping forward. I put a beaded cover on Sunday, it's slippery and I keep sliding up to the tank. Now I understand.

I'm still working on the seat mod (trying to make the seat flatter, so you don't slide forward). I wish Corbin or Sargent would make a seat for the Stelvio. In the meantime, here are some photos of my Cheapo Seat Mod Ver. 2.0. It's basically the same as the first version, except longer, flipped over and covered with sheepskin.

I took the bike for a ride with my Ver. 2 and hated it. I didn't have Ver. 1 with me, so I just went with the Sheepskin and that actually works fine. So forget everything I said in these posts. I'm flip flopping. Forget about modifying the seat. Just get a sheepskin, and you'll be fine....

Is the sheepskin on your bike actually the piece for the passenger section off a BMW GS1150? it looks very similar to what I have, although I've not got around to trying it out yet on my Stelvio. The Alaskan Butt Pad sheepskin seat cover is excellent, I always used it on long runs on the GS, and it also fits well on my Triumph Tiger 1050.

No, I got it from a sheepskin dealer in the US (maine); I think it's similar to the Alaska buttpad medium....

Here's a solution a local character developed for his Hondian:

I guess the car is more comfortable.
