Check This Connector at Your Starter (Bike Won't Start Isssue)

So as I started on this thread here: https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/washed-bike-now-wont-start.15263/ I've been unable to start my bike ever since I washed it last Sunday.

After checking a bunch of things with no luck I followed both the positive/red & the ground/black wire to the starter from the battery (need to remove the hard plastic panel under the chrome metal curved panel and a few inched above the heel shifter).

As I'm looking around there I notice that the positive/red wire is on nice and tight on the starter so no issue there. I try and follow the ground wire but it's behind the starter somewhere.

In the process of looking around for any possible cause I find a connector that's on it's own. Now this bike has several of those already for GPS hookup, heated hand grips, etc. so I'm wondering if this is just another one of those.

I almost missed it but lo and behold I see a metal flat spade on the back side of the starter ... that and the connector on it's own made me sure I found the issue.

To put the connector back onto the spade was easier said than done as it's tight. After disconnecting the neg terminal from the batter I ended up removing the positive/red connector from the starter that I refer to above with a 13mm socket wrench (not easy either).

I got the connector and the spade married back up again and put a plastic tie wrap to ensure it doesn't come off again.

She started right up again!!

We're you able to identify the cable in the electrical schematic? I'm guessing it is the cable going to the solenoid, but I'm not sure looking at your pictures.

Funny thing is I'm sure the washing had nothing to do with it at all ... just a weird coincidence that had me chasing ghosts for a week.

This motor vibes like a paint shaker at idle so things like a weak-assed connector popping off is expected. Piaggio should've put something tighter on there.
