Checking In

My Stelvio is PROBABLY running very well as it always does, but I won't be able to find out until Spring, nice weather or not, since I just had open-heart surgery and No Motorsickle Riding Allowed for a few months. I can't stand it up off the sidestand at the moment, much less push it around the shop, so it'll just have to wait patiently until I'm right again .....

Mine is also great. Parked in the garage, hating the cold weather as much as I do.

Unfortunately, every time I go through the garage, I keep hearing a slightly slurred Russian accent, coming from the Ural, stating, “Come on! I love the cold and snow!”

All the Italians in the garage, they just groan in disgust…

Good Luck on your recovery Lannis!

I've had the Stelvio out for 2 nice rides during the last week .............. and I'm glad that I did as it's now snowing! 😬

Nice Spacy looking pods !
The car tires are a bit off putting, but could grow on you…
My friend Klauss in San Diego had that type of European sidecar setup with a K1200RS. It is all customized rims and such to mate to that double wishbone suspension type setup and the car tires handle wicked well because no lean is possible.

Those rigs are fast as can be. Klauss was notorious for running his off the road more than once. He was insane on that thing. He would FLY up Mt. Palomar.

Don't Guzzi specifically advise against fitting a Sidecar to any of their CARC models?
I'm sure I've seen it in an owners manual somewhere, and I've seen it mentioned in several Forums.

Possibly just a case of corporate a**e-covering, but the CARC Swing-Arm does look a little under-engineered for Sidecar duties to me . . .

Having said that, there seem to be plenty around, and I've yet to hear of any issues.

I mean, if this thing hasn't broken a Swing-Arm, then maybe they are tough enough.
