Ciao from Hokkien of China

Welcome from the top of Virginia!

Lovely Guzzi and, even better, family.

I agree with John about the wrap, but you have your priorities right in looking out for your son. His excitement may be just to see you coming home -- a sweet thought, of course -- but it may also be a sign that he is a budding Guzzista.

That dehumidifier is a good addition, too. As you know, rust never sleeps, and often takes long naps hidden away in your tools! ;)

Bill

Thank you, Bill. You're right, I waited for Guzzi with my son for more than 4 months. During the waiting period, he often asked me, Dad, has your fast motorcycle arrived yet? I feel that he is looking forward to it more than I am.

Today, I talked to him about the exhaust pipe, and we made a deal. He must pay attention to safety, and then I removed the wrap. Sure enough, rusting has started, but fortunately, it just started. It seems that dehumidifiers can't stop rusting. Removing the wrap is the right decision. Thanks to @john zibell and you. 😆 🍻

That second photo with your son and wrench is PRICELESS. It will make him and his children smile decades from now.

It sure made my wife, Kathi, and I do that just now.

Your "deal" with your son is also evidence of your fine credentials as a father.

As Scott said -- and surely you know -- you are "a very blessed man." :inlove:

Bill

Congratulations for the pictures, your new bike, you home and your family. You'ra a very lucky man.

This has become a most fascinating thread. Great photos and great story and a great education for those of us who enjoy learning of other cultures, landscapes and architecture.

On another Guzzi forum, there are several members who take long Guzzi trips, some a "fly and ride", often through Europe, with photos and descriptions of where they are and what they're doing. Consider this a subtle hint, James, for any longer rides you may take through your large and fascinating country.
Ralph
Ralph, thank you for your hint. It's something I'm looking forward to. I think I will find the right time for a longer ride, hoping to take my son with me, like 《Zen and the Art of motorcycle maintenance》, have a soul ride.

Kathi and Bill, This photo also made us laugh a lot. I share it here. My son Dany, when he was two years old, loved playing with water. Every time we washed his hands, he would play with water for a long time until he was stopped.
Until one day, maybe he decided he needed the freedom to spend his time playing water, so when we weren't looking, he found a new source of water and enjoyed it until I found him and took this picture.

One of my Family members is in Turkey right now, and they have both this and standard in most places he's staying, including a bidet.

That is fancier that the units I experienced in Korea in the late 70s when I was stationed there. Those facilities were just a slot in the concrete floor. However it is similar to some units I have seen in Italy, just smaller.
