clutch knocking question

I don't have the PDF which is why I asked the fellow to post it.. This is similar to issues with earlier 6 speeds (Pre CARC). I know there is a service bulletin for them, but I don't have it. I think Pete's illustration is from the V11 6 speed, the Breva box is different.

I'd add an couple of part 11 or 13 to increase the load to the cam faces but that is just my guess. I would go by feel of the force required to compress the bevel spring assembly in order to set the half rings, and snap ring. It needs to be more than the original assembly, I just am not sure of how much more. I haven't had a 6 speed apart yet.

My Griso's been doing this for the 5 years I've owned it (at about 28k miles now). It does annoy me, as it takes away from the otherwise pleasant maniacal cacophony made by this mechanical grizzly bear of an engine (fitted with the gtrx exhaust of course).

Talk about reviving a thread from the dead though, lol.

John, any idea on where that is on the carc bikes like the Stelvio. I cannot see that cam assembly for the gearbox input shaft in any of the drawings. Did they do away with it on the Carc and now you get what you get. There is still talk out there of adding a washer, but not seeing any obvious locations for it. Any ideas??

Agreed, I don't see a similar assembly in the Stelvio. I suspect the drive shaft is made with an internal cush drive, but I can't confirm that. That is the only assembly I see that could be used to absorb driveline shock. The part number for the drive shaft is only different from the Norge by being prefixed by 2 letters so I really can't confirm if the drive shafts are different.
