After 3 weeks my Corbin seat for the Norge arrived today and I’m not at all happy. Right out of the box I noticed a few problems. 1, there is a small cut in one of the side panels. 2, there was white stuff or glue on the rear portion of the seat. 3, the biggest problem, they used the wrong materials in making the seat. The seat was suppose to have Carbon-Fiber leather seating panels and Carbonite trim, just as it is pictured on the Corbin web page. What I got was a seat with standard leather seating and no Carbonite trim. I contacted Travis at Corbin. At first he said that I received what I ordered and the seat comes standard with regular black leather and no Carbonite trim. I told him he better look at his own companies description of the seat at which point I then read the description from Corbin’s own web site, “On top, we include genuine leather seating panels for a luxurious ride. Our standard design includes Black Carbon-Fiber leather seating with Asphalt vinyl contrasting sides, Carbonite Trim & Tri-Color embroidered Corbin logo. For ultra clean looks we do not recommend using a "welt" on this saddle model. “ Travis then put me on hold and when he returned to the phone he informed me he had spoken to his manager and apparently they had run out of the Carbon-Fiber leather and Carbinite trim so they just used standard leather……WTF!!!!! I told Travis that if someone places a $650.00 order for a custom seat that is suppose to be made out of a material that the company runs out of, then you call the customer and explain the situation. What you don’t do is make it with whatever you want to without at least making a call to the customer and get his approval for the change. Travis said that they will have the correct materials at the shop in a couple of weeks at which time they will pay to ship the old seat back to Corbin for a redo. Travis also gave me the option of just keeping the wrongly made seat and getting use to it, which I declined. So in a couple of weeks the seat will go back and they will hopefully get it right.

Corbin, what a bunch of idiots. But I will say that Travis was reasonably polite and said he will make it right in the end.

I had a similar problem with Corbin a couple years ago. :angry: I sincerely hope you have an easier time of getting your problem resolved than I did mine. Took me many phone calls and emails before I got anywhere. It was such a frustrating experience that I hesitate to buy anything from them again and until that point I had been a loyal customer for years.

All I can say is keep the pressure on them.

I had 3 Corbin"s with other bikes but the quality had slipped in my experience. That's why I ordered a Sargent for my Multistrada. I am very pleased and they are going to redo the saddle on my Griso.

boy that would really piss me off. a simple call to you would have been enough. on this price point they still can't be bothered to follow up with you. what a shame and kinda figures for them.

Well I’ve put 300 miles on the new seat and this is what I can tell you so far. Yes it is more comfortable than the stock seat and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my knees don’t seem to be bent quite as much as with the stock seat, I don‘t know if this is because the Corbin sits higher or if the driver‘s section is longer. The Corbin is much, much harder than the stock seat so it is going to take some time to get use to that. The driver’s portion of the Corbin is angled toward the back of the bike so no longer do my balls get squished toward the tank. Overall it is an improvement over the stock seat. Is it a $650.00 improvement? Time will tell as the seat breaks in and conforms to my butt. And I tried out the heated feature of the seat in upper 50 degree temps. Works great.

I took some pictures of the three seats I have for the Norge so you guys can get an idea as to what they look like side by side. The seat on the left is the MG accessory low seat, the middle seat is the Corbin and the seat on the right is the stock Norge seat. Hope this helps.;

An important point you brought up is that your gonads don't get squished into the tank with the Corbin seat. That was one feature on my Norge that bothered me more and more as I rode the bike. I tried multiple add-ons to try and make the stock seat more comfortable. the best add-on was the airhawk, but still me nads would end up getting crowded out by the tank. I ordered a Corbin after testing one out and the seating position is far superior to the stock setup. It does sit a little lower, but also positions me back a bit further away from the tank. Me nads are happy now. as far as the quality of the seat, it's fine, becoming more comfortable as the miles rack up. Must say, I am glad i spent the money on it.https://www.guzzitech.com/forum/post/r ... 88&t=3294#
