my '18 V7 Special was the shiny one on the show room floor.
No insults here, but i'm not a fan of the murdered out matte look.
But my motor is all black on black....

I have seen many guzzi's with those stumps of cylinders with the fin edge polished, and i love the look.
Cosmetic, yes....Vain, of coarse...
has any one out the attempted to bling up the fin edges with cylinders still mounted ?

Vain is getting hair plugs,
Getting stuff to make the bike your own, isn’t quite the same...

I fell the same way about the Black hole... it needs some contrast !
I was thinking of doing the same thing to the fins.
Careful file work first, the a polishing wheel with jewelers rouge on a Dremel.
 
don't you think that the rouge would get all over the black and be hard to get off ?
I don't mind the tedium of the file work, and was thinking about a follow up with the wife's fingernail file !
would love a polish, but i think just the raw alloy color would be enough contrast for that black box...
 
2" sanding disc wheel on a pneumatic grinder will get you your results. Sanding disks then polishing or scotch-brush disk.
The factory machines them to raw metal after powder-coat prior to assembly of course.

We’re talking a little on a buffing wheel , not a Lady of the evenings face paint !

I’m wary of getting carried away with the “power grinder”,
Maybe I could mosey on over to the Show me State, and get some practice in on Dale’s bike ;)
Could also get some “experience” taking off his gas tank and work on the inside V while we get the hang of it !
