Had a custom seat made by Rich O'Connor of "Richscustomseats", excuse to ride to the Olympic peninsula in Wash state. The seat is made well and very comfortable.
Hey Mike, nice seat! Looks nice and short on the pillion side - I like it.
Off topic, is that a touring version with a smaller windshield? Could you tell me what you did to put a smaller one, I've been looking at some models but they all seem to be specifically made for the custom.
Hi, yes its the touring model. I ordered a Givi screen from Todd, mounting brackets included. The screen dont hide much just aesthetics. The seat, I had cut down high wise and length wise, I love the seat for looks and comfort.
Interesting. I was worried about mounting any of the Custom-specific windshields since I saw that the two metal "hands" that hold the headlight are actually different part numbers between the Touring and the Custom versions. Maybe that Givi screen doesn't use the headlight holders to attach.
Ah, nice! It attaches to the touring bracket so it'll be fine. I've made sure and indeed Custom version has two inside holes each on the black metal beams holding the headlight, while Touring doesn't.
I don't really understand the reasoning behind confining the Touring version to bracket kind of windscreens only, tbh. With that and inferior rear shocks I feel a bit cheated having bought the Touring.
