The Dash menu scroll button on my 06 Griso is starting to be hard to get along with, you can (most of the time )use it to scroll the menu but when you want to select something or ,The Gods forbid, change the time or some such by Crikey you better bring your sense of humour with you. I am told you can buy a replacement but it also comes with the entire Left switch block and no I did not ask the price.Squirting contact cleaner into it helps a little, but I want to fix it properly or replace it. The button appears to me to be a sealed unit. The wiring connectors ,(under the front of the fuel tank)are clean and appear sound. Anybody else had this drama or know of an answer. The button started playing up during the plentiful rainfall weve been getting on the East Australian coast. Cheers.

yeah I find it pretty stupid and I think mine works fine.. either a quick 'on' or a long 'on' seems to be the only way and if it was getting stuck - I think I'd need more than a sense of humour to cope.. :x

I hate that bloody button with a passion......it has a mind of its own.....which it changes frequently! It's like it can't make up its mind what constitutes a short or long 'on'. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to go back to the start because suddenly it's decided to react quicker or slower to it being pressed. On the whole I avoid using it except for clearing the trip read out when I fuel up. The only good outcome of this is it's always 'Summer Time' on my Griso.

If it is mechanically sound and no spring or contact problem resides in there,
a small ceramic capacitor in parallel, say 47nF, may fix such issues, worth a try.
Depending on results, go up to 220nF or as low as to 1nF (you may go lower but most probably there will be no felt difference - higher values than 470nF may stress the dashboard's design so better avoid to make sure).
Usual capacitor step values: 1nF-10nF-22nF-47nF-100nF-220nF.

Well the button finally bundied off on the way back from the Moto GP.These buttons can be pulled apart. The contacts were worn,I couldnt really see how it worked anyhow, it has 2 contacts on the button and 2 contacts in the housing the button travels in but I couldnt work out how it made a circuit but that dont matter cause its buggered. I tried the Auto electricians for a replacement , no joy ,he sent me to the electronics shop and he had a similar but smaller Micro momentry switch, which he sold to me for $1.00 AUD. All I had to do was make a spacer on the inside of the button , resolder the wires and re assemble.I will try to find the right thing but for now I dont have to rush. Cheers.
