G'day all,

I have had the Norge in to get some accident damage from a Harley running into the back of me. So the bike was rideable, but had been in for about a month getting things done at North Coast V-Twin at Coffs Harbour (about 400km away).

It was all ready to go and I was going to double Kim on her Breva 750 up to pick up and then a small 1000km 2 day trip home. The mechanics wheeled the bike in to give it a quick wash etc. and noticed the dash was wobbling. Upon quick inspection and then off with the front fairing it was found that the Front frame 1 part no. MG977586 that the screen struts etc connect to was broken on the middle strut.

Of course there was now only 2 days before I was due to pick up. It was a couple of hours to take off fairing then another couple to put back on and then get the part to a competent welder ( also no part in Australia and Luigi is on summer holiday shutdown), so of course a good reputable workshop is always busy and so no time to do mine.

Its now 3 weeks later and we may get up there next week to pick up.

So if your dash has a wobble, get a torch out and look underneath for a crack in the frame, the workshop manager would not let me take it until it was fixed as who wants the front fairing going under your front wheel.

Is what you are describing the same as Carl Allison posted about on w/g a few days ago?

Carl believed that the cause was a rough road he lives on. If same or similar fracture, would anything like that possibly have caused yours?

G'day Bill,

I have not seen the broken part as the bike is 400km away at the dealer, but it is on the same bar, however I don't know if it is on the lower or higher part.

Here in Australia away from freeway's the roads can be rough, but they are not goat tracks.

I have not checked wild guzzi, but I will now.

I am riding the '07 model. Had a crack on the same exact location.. got it welding with a one more strip on metal for additional strength.. roads in Singapore are smooth..

I just learned that these subframes are known to crack, Guzzi is aware, and will replace under warranty.

I have all my tupperware off so I checked the bracket, it's fine after 38000 km of the worst Quebec d.o.t. can toss at us.
Maybe the later generation were upgraded?
