I just took my carbs apart, cleaned and replaced their guts...any sugguestions on how to set my air/gas screws?
When I took them apart, I counted turns required to go from their current position until full tightened so that when i reinstalled them i could start from the fully tightened position and back out to where they were originally positioned.
After doing this...
(1st carb) gas screw --> 3.5 revolutions from fully tightened and air was 1.5 from fully tightened (roughly - i dont have my notes with me now)
(2nd carb) both screw were essentially fully tightened before i removed them...
Does anyone know if this makes sense or how I can learn more about their proper settings?
Thanks!

For the mix screws I set an initial adjustment of 2.5 turns out from seated. For the throttle height, good question. I don't know why the throttle stop screws would be removed, but if you did, fully seat them before you install the slides. Start the bike then turn them out equally until you get an acceptable idle. If you have a sync tool, sync after you have an acceptable idle, then adjust the mix screws for best idle. Remember to never screw in the idle stop screw without first raising the slide. If you don't the slide will be damaged. If best idle require more then 2.5 turn out, the pilot is too small, conversely if less than 2.5 turns the pilot is too large.
