OK, so let me get this out of the way first - this is NOT a "what's the difference between the 4V/8V/NTX thread :) So I've just dropped off my 8V for it's first service and the garage have given me their 8V as a loaner. I figured it would be just like riding mine, but there are a couple of differences I noticed on the ride home. First off, the seat on the loaner feels softer and more comfy than my plank, which is nice, but it tends to tip me forward into the tank, which is less so and which mine doesn't, so far. Second thing is the gearbox on the loaner is soooo smooth. Mine was like that when I bought it, and I don't know if it's got a tad rougher or if I just don't notice it any more. Find out tomorrow. Third, the screens. Bloody hell - I love mine. It was a revelation after the Capo (and the 4 screens I tried with that) to have a screen that was adjustable and gave me zero buffeting in either the upper or lower position, regardless of seat height. Heaven! Never even crossed my mind that there would be a difference, but on the loaner the screen buffets me massively in the high position (headache inducing in 10 mins) and in the lower position it's really loud. Also the loaner's a lot more vibey. I know mine felt vibey at first, and it's either got better or I've got used to it, but this one feels buzzy and by the time I'd ridden the 40km home my hands and feet were unhappy.

Anyway, there's a wee waffle for ya - it just surprised me that 2 bikes, both same model, same year, 700 + 1400 kms would feel so different and give me such a different feel about the bike. Upshot is, if I'd test-ridden the loaner, it's very unlikely I'd be riding a Stelvio now.

Cheers
Rob

I had the same experience the one I test rode was great, the one I got has been the biggest POS I have ever had
