Morning all

I am looking for recommendations for driving lights for my 2017 V7 III. I have looked a lot online and the options seem to be cheap crappy stuff from China, or dropping $500 for Denali driving lights which I cannot afford.

If anyone has some suggestions to share, I would love to hear them.

Thank you.

I though you Canadians had those dreaded MOT inspections every year?!?

Are there requirements for additional lighting?

I used generic RIGID brand LED lights in my Stelvio with general purpose brackets. Got the whole setup in pieces on Amazon for very little coin compared to the name brand motorcyvle specific stuff.

They have been working all the time on every ride, and still function great for 10+ years now.

I tried to get some good photos which required a bit of navigating to get back there! I hope you can understand and see in the photos.

The new workshop is coming together slowly and my motorcycles are still packed in like saradines in a can!

No such thing as MOT here in Canada. That is a UK thing. We don't ever have any kind of inspections.

The only requirement for adding lights are my own. I am going to ride through the winter this year and it gets light late and dark early. I need better lights on the road. I'll take a look at he RIGID brand on Amazon. Thanks

One more question please kind sir.

If I want to run say 2 x 40w LED driving lights, can the V7 III electrical system handle that?
I currently have Koso Apollo heated grips and a wireless phone charger installed. All my lights have been converted to LED.

Good question. Unfortunately I do not know the output of the generator/alternator on that model. My inclination is to say “Yes”, it should not be too much draw.

The stated alternator output capacity is 268 watts @ 12 volts, or just over 22 amps.

P/V=I

Power (watts) / Voltage = Amperage

Almost certain that you should be just fine.
