My new, barely used 2016 Eldorado was delivered today. It's a beautiful bike !

I notice something odd and don't know what it is or if it's normal: I started it up a few times and after the ignition is turned off there is an intermittent noise coming from inside the fuel tank (or maybe right under it?).

I'm not sure how to describe it, kind of a brief "groan" every few seconds. It stops after several minutes.

They ignition if off during this time. Eldorado.JPG

    Anyone heard of this?

    Glenn

Sounds like "the moaning whale". It's been covered extensively here so do a search of the sight and you will learn all about it and how to stop it. My 2016 Eldo did the same thing until I "harpooned" it with instructions from this site.

Your going to love your Eldorado, but if you want it to really impress you, consider Todd's complete fueling package. It will turn the bike into a smooth running, well behaved, fire breathing dragon!
    Garwood.

    Garwood, Thanks for the reply.

It's good to know the "moaning" is normal. I'll do a search and read up on the solution.

Nice bike!! I wouldn't leave the key on w/o engine running till you check that the update they had for alternator wiring was done. OR see if your bike is effected. I think it is documented here too. Just letting you aware.

Thanks for the advice. Is that update a factory recall or something I need to take care of myself (like fusing the fog lights on the Stelvio)?

I had some time Sunday so I decided to harpoon the "moaning whale" and do the alternator wire mod (per the tech bull) while I had the tank up. Looks like the wire mod was already completed.

It's not a moaning whale, it's a sigh of contentment after a good ride.
