Got my Bellagio back today after the gearbox front plate was replaced under warranty due to
a faulty porous casting .It was great to take to the road again after 2 months of not being able to ride.
Rob ,the guy who has sorted it out told me he found a lot of oil in the air box & suggested I fit a mesh screen in the engine breather hose to arrest the oil as it travels up towards the air box. I remember seeing something about a spiral wire brush ,looking
item [spark /flash arrester?] somewhere some time ago.
but can't remember wether it was this site .
has any one heard of this FIX.

Glad to be back on the road J B

Also check how much oil you are putting in. It seems the factory specification is too much. I only put about 3.4 liter in my 1100 Breva and things stay dry.

Very much agree. The motors usually find their own level for oil by blowing out excess.

I run mine between the lower and upper marks on the stick, never full.

Mine is full at around 3.1 litres including filter - seems to be different even on "identical" bikes

I removed my airbox and fitted K&N pod filters. Prior to that my Bellagio was pissing oil out of the airbox, the inlet manifolds and every breather hose joint. It left a puddle of oil on the ground whenever it was parked. (even after ditching the airbox.)
(I ran the breather pipes to the ground. Spent $50 (including delivery) buying 3 Fiat flame traps, 2 nearest the engine and one for good measure at the end of the hose. It now leaves a small spot of oil on the ground. ....................... A big improvement on the puddle. Still looking at getting a "Roper Plate" to eliminate the puddle/spots of oil left when parking.
Hi Peter Roper. How much is your plate?
