Fastening a MG Tank Bag on a Cafe Classic

I bought a MG Tank Bag for my Cafe Classic. The back of the bag appears to be meant to be fastened to the back of the fuel tank by 2 bolts passing through two brass eyelets in two leather tabs on the back of the bag. There are two threaded holes about 1/2 deep on the rear of the tank. However, no bolts or screws were included in the kit. Does anyone know if this is the proper way of fastening the back of the bag to the bike. What size of bolts should be used? Any advice appreciated.
 
Someone wrote somewhere that the holes fits on two pegs, or the like, and mounting the seat is supposed to lock the whole thing.
 
I believe the bolt size is M5 x 6mm, but after installing the MG tank bag on my V7 Cafe, I can't really tell if the two eyelets are meant to be screwed into the back of the tank or not. If they are, then the cutout for the fuel cap is positioned too far to the rear -- by about an inch. Sure, the tank bag still works, and you can still gas up the bike, but there's no way to reposition things once everything is bolted in.
 
Got the same issue with mine....the bag came without bolts....I believe they are M6...and like someone said, the gas cap placement is not perfect....just put the front strap supertight and wash the bike....once it dries, it will stay stretched...worked on mine.... good luck
 
I devised an inexpensive and effective remedy to this problem. Get yourself a small binder clip. The one I used is 3/4 inch (or 19mm) wide as measured by the width of the clip. Remove the legs from the clip. Bolt the closed end of the legs into the threaded holes on the back of the tank so the open ends are pointing upwards. You want the legs to extend just past the surface of the tank, so you may need to experiment with different lengths. Slip the tank bag eyelets over the legs and cinch the front strap around the steering stem. The spring pressure of the legs will prevent the eyelets from slipping off, and the length provided by the legs will allow the fuel filler cutout to be in alignment.

You may find it easier to feed the legs through the eyelets before bolting them to the tank.
