For what they're worth, after 120 ride home on a new 2017. Some folks have referenced sport touring with this bike. It would have to be a pretty smooth road for me to agree with that. Corner entries or mid corner bumps definitely upset the chassis. Too much compression damping and not enough rebound damping make things harsh. Sharp bumps pitched my 170# rear completely off the seat, luckily while going in a straight line. Now I understand the chatter about upgrading suspension components. On the positive side that engine is a gem. Decent power and torque, smooth and linear just like the dyno chart shows. Transmission is slick and the clutch is low effort. Owners manual is worthless, contradicts the service manual at times. I love the red, it's a beautiful bike, fit and finish is good. My opinions may change with time, but I'm happy with the purchase.

Matris units, (available from the store) transformed the ride of my Touring and Todd is on hand to advise about set up etc. In addition, depending on budget the fuelling package will enhance the motor even further. Enjoy.

I look forward to trying my new Touring on our British roads, where I live in the English Midlands there is little opportunity for adventurous riding because of the traffic jams and poor condition of many road surfaces, not to mention speed enforcement cameras, when you can ride without these issues though I expect the big Guzzi to be fantastic at what it is meant for

bobbyblue, good luck on the rough roads, you'll have your hands full...
