Greeting to all,
I'm a new Guzzi owner and I just finished a 4,000 plus mile trip from the west coast to the north east. I have to admit that there were a few times along the way when I wished I had either a batwing fairing or something to protect the hands. The patrol windscreen did a good job but offered no protection for the hands whatsoever.
Driving through AZ and NM temps dropped into the 40's after dark so the hands got kinda cold even with winter gloves...
Recently, I was at the MG dealer and from my initial observation the California handlebar controls looked very similar to the Stelvio controls. I asked the dealer and he said he didn't know if the Stelvio NTX handguards would fit on the 1400 or not, as he was a bit busy with customers I didn't pursue the question.
Does anyone here know if the NTX hand guards can be fitted to the California Touring without much difficulty? The kit comes with the bar ends and all hardware needed to mount. Just not sure if everything is exactly the same or not.
If worse comes to worse I might just buy them online and try and see if they'll mount cleanly, they'd be a good addition in wet and cold weather!
As a side note, today I saw a HD Road King with aftermarket barkbusters and they looked very similar to the NTX handguards and I have to say, they didn't look all that bad on the HD. So, I'm thinking they'd look even better on the Cal 1400.
