I carry one of these http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Aer ... 20304.html along with a standard rubber rope type plug kit that I got at Autozone. The mini compressor fits in the palm of my hand and seems to work well at airing up a flat tire, although I have yet to use it to fix a flat. I've used the rope type plugs many times in the past to fix my flats and only once have they not done the job. My whole tire repair kit fits in the tail section of my Norge where the charcoal canister once lived. My only advice if you decide to use the rope type plugs, is make sure you put a razor blade in your kit. I once spent an hour or so walking a piece of rarely traveled Wyoming road looking for a piece of glass sharp enough to cut the excess plug poking out of the tire:S .
