On the California EV and the Vintage (and perhaps other models) with the adjustable forks, there is a small screw with an O-ring inserted into each fork cap. (part #03530506). I'm wondering what their purpose is for. They don't appear to be present on the non adjustable forks.
Is is simply a drain and oil refill port, or are there other possibilities intended? If this is the case, then why omit it on the non-adjustable version? Regardless, I never use it to drain or refill the fork, I imagine it would be far too slow for someone as impatient as me.
Looks tempting to add a valve and apply a little bit of compressed air, but I've never found the forks on my Californii (EV Touring and Vintage) too soft, so never bothered to try. Just curious what they're for.
