fork kit install

Did folks who installed fork kits on their V7, such as the Matris kit, install any new fork oil seals, gaskets, etc.? I don't know if it's recommended to replace the seals once you start ripping things apart. My bike has about 6800 miles on it.

Also, can't seem to pin down a part number for V7 Stone fork oil seals in the parts catalog.

Thanks.

Since the forks do not need to be completely disassembled for the Kit install, and if it is well below 30k miles, no need to change or replace anything bushing or seal wise, no.

is a box end wrench or deep socket wrench needed to install the new matris caps, and are they 30mm like the OEM caps?

Yes, pretty sure I use a 32mm 1/2" drive standard depth 6-pt socket. A deep would work as well of course or a wrench, yes.

Sorry to restart an old thread, but when I remove the stock sleeve and washer and spring do I just drop the new valve and stuff in from there or do I have to remove anything else first? Thanks @GT-Rx®

It's a matris FKE fork kit. Instructions are vague and this is my first time tackling this type of job.

Are you installing an emulator? If so, there is a bit more work involved. No instructions?

I think I have to take the rest out, I tried looking at the manual and searching all over online, I can find the diagrams and exploded parts views but not how to actually remove or install

Guys, please just email me for technical questions, I don't live on the Forum all of the time.
Remove the spacer and spring. Install the flow valve and spring, add and measure oil level, then add spacer and cap.

Thanks for the reply Todd, I posted here since it was weekend after hours and was seeing if anyone else with experience might chime in because I'm currently elbow deep in this. I just want to make sure I'm clear before I mess something up. When you say install the flow valve just drop it in or do I need to remove a stock valve and replace it with this one, type of install. Thanks for the help.

No extra holes in the damper tubes like the RaceTech emulators? How does that work?

Edit: Not really an emulator. Just a kit with an external pre-load adjustment and a "flow valve."

Quick questions I can usually reply to as long as I'm awake or not on the bike.
Nothing else to remove other then the springs and spacers. The flow valve sits into the stock damper rod. Make sure it sits firmly into the damper rod.
