I have a 07 Griso. I took the battery out the other day and noticed water or batter acid in the holding compartment for the battery. Could a overnight freeze cause the batttery to leak? It took 6 hours to charge up the batttery on a battery tender Plus. I got a 12.9 volt reading from my multimeter should not it be 14.5? I put the battery back in after wiping up the water or batter acid in the compartment and got a 12.5 reading from the multimeter again and on the Mode position on the dashboard. Is this normal? I use to see 14.5 volts on the dash before I removed the battery. It started right up Think I need a new battery or should I keep using the same one?

The 14.5 on the dash was likely when the bike was running. This is about the voltage that the charging circuit puts out. The 12.5 volts from the battery at rest is about normal (great if that is what your dash reads before starting the bike). The water is likely form something else (rain, condensation or washing the bike) - the batteries that should have come with the Griso are AGM sealed battery and there isn't much chance that they would leak (anything is possible I guess) - I would say as long as you are getting around 12.5 volts from the battery and it starts well, you are fine.

a good fully charged battery should read about 13.2 volts at room temperature. the colder it gets, the lower that voltage goes. The battery itself wont freeze under normal earthly conditions.

I have heard that as long as it is charged a battery isn't likely to freeze. But the less charge it has the higher the freeze point is.
