Fuel Line Inside Diameter Query

Anyone happen to know what the inside diameter is for the fuel line. I have been toying with installing a quick disconnect as a preventative measure to my fumble fingers. My recent spring maintenance ran into a bit of a snag when trying to get the connector off of the fuel pump and do not want to push my luck.

Cheers

Wish to do same to Bella, its either 6mm or 8mm but even local Guzzi guru wouildn't tell me.
I would have to cut the line, measure then order from o/seas as nobody even carries those little suckers in Oz.

Todd, Pete, anybody ...................... help!

I believe the fuel lines are 7mm. Even if 6 or 8 the quick disconnects used in BMW motorcycles placed in the line would work well. You just change your problem from a connector that is difficult to remove, to an o-ring in the BMW connector that fails over time. This supplier even includes an extra o-ring with the BMW type unit. http://www.beemerboneyard.com/cpcqkdiscon1.html

I had the same style of quick disconnects on my Triumph Sprint, and after messing with the push pull guzzi set up I'd much rather have the quick disconnects listed here, a dozen viton o-rings was @ $3.00 I used to replace them every time I took my tank off, just in case no big deal. I plan on switching my Breva over next winter to the CPC fittings, just curious if the 1/4" or 5/16" fittings would be the best ones to use. :?: There's an active thread over on WG and a fella replaced the fittings on his B750 with the 1/4" fittings.
You can get a set of valved fittings in either 1/4" or 5/16" barbed male and female fittings for @ $30.00 plus shipping here http://quickcouplings.net/osc/product_i ... 4f65f4c60e

The lines on my Griso are marked 8X1 which I interpreted as 8mm with a 1mm wall thickness and I too could not find anything in OZ except a Co called Australian Italian Imports (which sounded like the front for something a 'leetle beet' dubious :? ) These people are supposed to be the Importers for Colder connections which make every damn sort of Quick disconnect there is.

UPDATE
  YEE HA!!!!Just did a bit more searching in the white pages and have just spoken to Russel at Victoria fittings and valves ((03) 9873 1400) who tells me he can supply both plastic and metal Colder Q/release fittings using Credit card over the phone method.
He advises that they come fitted with Buna-N (nitrile)seals which some customers have found OK and others were not happy with and suggests the seal can not be replaced in the female couple.
I'm going to order a set and see how it goes together for a griso

Here is a link to the Colder cattle dog BUT BE WARNED THE COMPANY DOES NOT RESPOND AS GONE OUT OF BUSSINESS

The link in the previous post is much easier to use and looks like the same productshttp://quickcouplings.net/osc/produ...d=661&osCsid=20d79e9c44b3561337cb394f65f4c60e

Any reason not to use these?

The only issue I can see with these is they are made of plastic. The plastic fittings that were used on my Triumph became brittle over a period of time and Triumph began replacing one of the fittings with a metal one, not sure why they only replaced one but thats what they did. I'd spend the extra money and go with the metal fittings.
