Last trip out to Mainland Europe my pals Griso died out on the M25, so he never even made it across. Diagnosis at the side of the road was failed fuel pump. It's just come back from (the original supplying) dealer repair. Apparently this is the 3rd Griso they have had with the same problem - all relating to the fuel pipe recall in the tank. Where the new pipe installed comes apart due to the fixing clip.
My pals bike is a June '06 G11, I can't speak for the other two. I've heard nothing of this here and I think it begs some questions;
- Was the 'kit' for the original recall work inadequate?
- Were the dealer instructions accompanying this recall open to poor dealer interpretation?
- Has this dealer perhaps just made a hash of the work on several of their supplied bikes?
Anyone heard of revisits to recall work in this area and probable causes? Sounds like the fix this time was to replace/fit a jubilee clip.
