I don`t suppose Pete Roper is coming to UK in near future?

I`m in process of removing the gearbox from my Cali injection to sort a reluctance to change up into 3rd & 4th gears, plus put in a new clutch.

I missed the last `round` of shimming tutuorials and wonder if I could get it done by the expert.

Failing that, can anyone, in UK, recommend a dealer or individual who knows their way round a gearbox?

Ray.

P.S. I have read the articles here on Guzzitech, and intend to have a go myself, it`s just it would be great to get the job done properly and probably quicker!

Ray ;)

Several of us attended Pete's excellent tutorials when he was over a couple of years ago. Where are you in the UK, maybe one of us could pass on the knowledge.

Yup, it helps to have someone around who has done it before, (This goes for everything from eating soup to sex:laugh: ) but really the most important thing is to look at the bits and THINK about what they are doing. It ISN'T 'White Man Ju-Ju'. It's just bits of metal doing a job. Sort out in your head what the job is and......... Bingo! It all makes sense!!!!

Pete

Hi Brian, I`m near Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I do intend to try it myself, it was more a case of time, knowing how I sometimes need a kick to get on with things!

I would apreciate someones input who has been "inside the box"!

First I have to get it out, (It`s hanging on the studs at the moment, I thought it would come out with the centre stand in place!), then clean it down ready to strip it.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

Ray.

Stripping and refurbing the 5-speed g/box is easy.

But then you've got to put it back together. I did this eons ago, and then spent several
frustrating hours trying to get it all back together. Took the pieces to an experienced Guzzi
guy who then proceeded to cuss at it for 30 minutes until it magically fell together.

I'm convinced that there is no one, fool-proof way of re-assembly. :(
