GOOD NEWS: My vacation was scheduled to start June 22nd this year and I figured if I really pushed it, I could make John Day for the Rally... visit family in Washington and still make it back to work in the 10 days I had off.
BAD NEWS: My boss had me travel 90 miles in the wrong direction first for a last minute meeting. It turns out my time off would be paid by unemployment
Pretty Good Time: With the extra time now on my hands.... I had a hell of a ride!
I'm sorting photos now, and hope to have a ride report posted this weekend.
Camping was cold but comfortable.
John Day was a neat place to visit. Never being one for crowds, I only stayed a day and hit the road again. To those I met... travel safe, it was great to meet you. To the rest of you... maybe we'll meet on the road
The Griso performed GREAT!! Todd's reflash and a PCV really smoothed things out and I was SHOCKED at how well I did for MPG.
Rode in 93 degree weather, rode in 41 degree weather too. Got sunburned... got snowed on... rode over a rattlesnake (oops)... missed those damn deer (thank God!) Rode to Seattle to see Moto Int (found out they were closed July 3rd )
Spent a few days riding the Yakima Valley area with family ( My MG, a Kawi, a Suzuki, and a Harley. Same size smile no matter what bike they had)!
Took tons of photos
Like I said earlier: It was a hell of a ride! I think I'll hit the East Coast next month!
