Got my bike back on Friday.
Had the cams done and they spotted the left fork was cracked so did that as well all under warranty despite being just out. Te fork was almost completely cracked thru.
Took 4 weeks though so I was pleased to collect on Friday, I had a loaner bike for the period (only to get there and back to the dealers) a 97 plate 600 Bandit, the less said about that the better.
I also asked about loading a new engine map which they did, the bike was surging at low revs.
Anyway I rode it down to Somerset this morning despite the weather (wet from Manchester to Gloucester, then dried up).
Didn't miss a beat, mostly motorway speeds, filled up at Bristol, 14.7 litres for 156 miles which I reckon is 48mpg, so that was big plus. Bike seems much sweeter now, really picks ups from low revs, no low speed surging, quick from 50-80mph with a great noise even with standard can. So I don't know what enigine map was loaded but it seems to work well.
How many miles can you go once the total odometer reading changes to a miles run since fuel lamp came on.
Also the top bar of the fuel gauge - only seen it twice and only managed 5 miles before it drops to 2 bars, then down to one at around 120m and the fule lamp at around 140.
Looking forward to the ride home on Friday, maybe via the A49 rather than the motorways and in some sunshine.
