Introduction post.
Juts picked up my first Moto Guzzi, a new 2015 V7 Special from Euro Cycles of Tampa Bay. It's not just my first new motorcycle, but my first new vehicle purchase ever. At 40, I've always bought/ridden vintage.
The bike has 10 miles on the clock and I can't wait to add a ton more.
I've always ridden vintage (currently 72 CB450 restomod and just got rid of my 72 Titan 500), but my wife enjoys riding 2-up so I have been looking to get a modern classic to have something more comfortable and reliable for day trips.
Rode the Ducati Scramblers, all the Triumphs, CB1100, Sportsters, the XSR900 and the BMW R9T. It came down to the BMW and the V7 (the XSR900 is amazing, but it wasn't great 2-up). The V7 won out because it just felt closest to what I've always been used to. It helped a friend at the local dealer let me know they were just about to list their last V7 under cost.
Loaded up the trailer and picked it up yesterday evening. About to gear up and take it for it's first ride.
Can't wait to dig into the forum and learn about the community and bike.
Doesn't hurt that is has an Italian cousin (wife's 500 Abarth) to share the garage with.
