Griping About Grips

One of the things I immediately didn't like about my Griso are the oem grips. They're simply have too small a circumference. I really like the oem grips on my Honda Valkyrie as I find their circumference about perfect for my hands. I've never had heated grips on a motorcycle but saw these a while back in RoadBike magazine. I've seen heated grips on a Griso but the controller takes up valuable real estate and looks a bit out of place. These A'Me heated grips don't have a separate controller as each grip has it's own built in control button. They look nice but I've not seem them up close.

Just wondering if anyone here has used these before or has another idea.

Here's a link to the A'Me grip website: http://www.amegrips.com/motorcyclestree ... icane-grip

I tried the Noj grip wraps many years ago but never found them all that comfortable either. Maybe if I cut them to the correct circumference they'd work better. https://www.denniskirk.com/black-neopre ... 501629.prd
Tough to beat for about $13.00 USD I guess.

Thank You,

Mark

I have arthritis in the hands so long rides on the old 850T with the smaller/stock grips make it worse the next day plus I have leather gauntlets for winter riding that are pretty slick and make the old "Guzzi wrist" worse.

This "fix" won't look so great but it's a fairly cheap way to see if it helps. From MGcycle.com order a pair of: Grab On Classic Road grips, foam grip set Part Number: GR07 Price: $13.46 (just did a copy paste from their site so it is current). Go to the local hardware store & get some long velcro strips. Split the foam grips lengthwise & secure them over your stock grips with 3 strips of velcro on each one. The foam grips are rubber lined on the inside so they won't slip & the velcro really locks them down. They won't wrap all the way around so there will be a gap that at first I didn't like. As I rode & played with the position of the gap I now have a little spot that my fingers fit into it & can use it as a "wrist assist cruise control". They come off real easy so it's not like you are spending a gizzillon bucks and lottsa time hoping to fix it. As I get older I care less about appearance & more about being able to continue to ride in comfort.

I've ridden Guzzi's for 40 years & most other brands never worked for me but I have always wanted to ride a Valkyre.

My Grab On's slid on perfectly, no cutting/velcro needed.

I've fitted Grip Puppies to my Griso and find the slightly larger diameter more comfortable than the standard grips. They also help to absorb some of the vibration that can lead to numb hands.
