After a long time, back to this board, and no good news...
At my last ride, suddenly -on road- the dashboard went blank.
No front lights (except the small one), no turning lights.
The horn is working, and the headlight signal switch (strange).
Straight through to my mechanic, and after one day the bad news came.
"Sorry, the dashboard is dead. The power goes up-til there normally, but,
no response from there..." :eek:hmy: have you checked everything... plug-unplug-replug etc...? "Yes. And nothing happens."
I remember in older forum, there were topics with faulty dashboards, replaced by warranty. I don't find them here thow. Have anyone experienced such thing?

ps. just under 20k km bike life....

Welcome back... those threads likely suffered any early death too with the last board crash end of last year.

Typically dash issues were met with swift replacement. Are you still in warranty?

This is much what goes from a company that builds scooters I suppose... cheap technology making it's way over to the motorbike world = not good.

The speedo dies in mine at 38,000Km but it had always been super noisy when it was goig through the 'swing' on start-up.

thing is the dashes are horrible cheap bits of shit, many of them allow in water, the one on my 1200 fogs a bit when it warms up but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse so I haven't been arsed to take it apart yet and dry it out. I probably will one day but I've got a spare anyway.

it should be a warranty item and I'd strongly reccommend taking the 'Glass' off the new one, drying it thoroughly and re-installing it with a decent silastic seal before instalation. The big problem is that the Digitek factory doesn't seem to have a silastic gun! (Grrrr!)

Hi Pete,

Listen, you guys refer to Silastic in many posts. I'm in New Jersey USA and not familar with the product. Can I ask... is it a silicone adhesive such as GE silicone or is it a type of caulk similar to latex or siliconized tube caulk? Or, last one, is it similar to what we would call, Plumbers putty? I would imagine silicone might make removing the lens impossible.

I plan on doing my lens at some point too.

Unfortunately not. My warranty ended 2 months ago. :S Although it was activated 3 months ago! Yeap you've read right, by the time i bought the griso, the warranty for some unknown so far reason was inactive. I'd have to change a defective stepper motor along with the temperature sensor, and i discovered then with the worst way ever. Many e-mail to italy with complaints, nothing in return. Here, the local dealer (piaggio) after long lasting calls, gave the "go" to mechanic to repair it.

Not so "cheap" thow. They told me here, around 560

If you need to replace it on your own dime, I would look at TrailTech dashes as an option.
Sounds like something fishy (and possibly illegal in some states) is going on with your bike.
