OK, something's not right and I figured I'd run it by a few here to see of there's a quick answer before I actually have to start using my search skills or making phone calls.
This weekend was my first long ride on the Griso. Early in the morning doing pre-flight, I open the gas cap which was a bit stuck. I lifted the cap with a good bit of force and a huge sucking sound and a mist of gas and fumes came out. Glad I was wearing glasses. This was while the bike was stone cold, parked in my garage for a week.
And hour into my ride, stopped for fuel, same thing.
Got home later that day, parked the bike and a buddy came over say 30 min later after I parked. I was telling him about the issue, we went to the bike opened the gas cap to the same vacuum, peered down in the tank and the fuel looked as a pot of water does just before it goes into a boil, ripples all along the top. I put my finger in, the fuel was very warm and the rim of the tank opening was very warm, hot even.
I've got the bike parked in the garage with the fuel cap not quite locked so it'll vent.
OK, if I can plead ignorance from the get-go, where do I start?
