Hi
Anyone heard of Tekno luggage.
I just bought a set of panniers for my Griso.
They appear to be identical to the official Guzzi items, right down to their so called patented "fast click" locking system.
Can't find any info on them.
Just curious.

I'm pretty sure that the 'Factory' bags are made by the same company. They AREN'T though identical. The Tekno bags will fit with the Termi pipe whereas the factory bags won't. It may also be true that other 'Upswept' pipes won't fit with the factory bags either.

I had a set of Teknos I bought for my, now Chuck's, Scura. They fit straight onto the G racks and allow fittment of the Termi so I'm happy.

Now it's interesting you say that.
I have the Termignoni fitted to my bike and one of my concerns was the panniers fouling it, but they don't.
There's a decent amount of clearance.
So in the end, without intending too, I've ended up buying the best set up for my bike.
:D

I searched for these online, with no luck. Are they still available as new items? Where did you get them?

Thanks,

Moto

I'd be interested to know that too. I was lead to believe they were out of production but if Andy has just managed to purchase some then either they must be NOS or they are making 'em again, (Or maybe never stopped??)

Pete

I just got them on ebay.
A dealer had taken them off a Griso he'd taken in part exchange.
I paid £99 and was the only bidder.
I have to say, the quality seems good.
I can see now there are subtle differences between these and the official Guzzi items.
They're a slightly different shape.
I can confirm that there is plenty of clearance for the Termig, which a previous poster say's is not the case with the official panniers.
I posted here for more info as I cannot find any info on them.
It's like the company that produces them never existed.

Really? That's weird . There was absolutely no way in the world that the bags would fit on my 8V with the Termi. Since the rest of the bodywork/frame package is essentially the same for both 2VPC and 4VPC models and the pipe is the same, (Or as close as dammit the same externally and mounting wise.) I can't see how this is so?? Can you post a pic of your set up? Perhaps I'd done something wrong or stupid! Wouldn't be the first time!!!

Pete

It appears that this thread is fairly old, I'm curious if there have been any new developments. I'd like to get a set of bags for my 8V (with Termi). In the US, the only thing I've been able to find with any certainty is the M-G bags. I can't locate Tekno anywhere. I am curious about that brand, as it sounds likely that they fit with the Termi.

I like the design of the M-G bags, as well as the posted photos of the Teknos. I don't mind bolting up the frames when I need the bags. I like the solid-ness of that design and the paint protection.

So I guess my question is: Will the M-G bags work with the Termi? If not, has anyone found a good alternative in the US??

Thanks! - Matt

I cannot answer your question, will the MG bags work with the Termig, but I can confirm the Tekno's will.
Like you, I scoured the internet for info on these bags, but there is nothing.
It's like they don't exist.
The frames are identical to the MG items, as are the clips fitted to the cases that go onto them.
The only difference I can see is that the bags are a slightly different shape.
I suspect that the company that makes the MG set up, also produced them under the Tekno name.
The really great thing about these (and the MG bags), is that each of the frames is secured with only three bolts, meaning that fitting them, and removing them when not needed, takes about 5 minutes.

I find that really interesting. Good, but interesting. There was no way in the world mine would fit with the stock factory bags. I've now onsold 'em and use the Tekno bags I had for my V11 and they work fine but if someone could post a pic of their bags on, with the Termi, I'd love to have a looksee.

Pete

Agreed, I'd really like to see a picture. I can't seem to track down the Tekno bags, so if the MG ones fit I'd like to make up my mind and buy them!

I run a Termi on my G11 and no bags, my pal runs the stock pipe on his (G11) and the MG bags and rack. There's clearly more up angle to the Termi pipe and with the bikes side by side I couldn't see that the bags would fit with the Termi. We're unlikely to have the bikes parked next to each other for another comparison until May time though.

2 questions:
1. Anyone know of any update on Hepco-Becker availabiltiy in the U.S.?
2. Anyone have pictures of them using the CorTech sport luggage? I've used it on my Breva 750 i had some years ago. Worked well. I could fit my laptop in the bag and clothes & a few tools in the HB side bags.

I just bought the Cortech set for my Griso 8V with a Mistral. They fit fine and work very well. I am impressed with the quality.

Here's a pic of the Cortech setup on my Griso - the tailbag was bought quite some time ago and the saddlebags were bought last fall - hence the different logos

That's the GTR-Rx pipe.

Nice shots! I also notice the Roadgear tank bag, too. Like your Zumo where it is, too (pics of that'd be cool as well).

This setup is probably what I'd use if I get this left-over '09 G8. Quick Q, though: Would this work with the stock pipe, or is it too high?

Thanks, everyone!
