Hi all,
New to the world of Moto Guzzi, taking delivery of a Griso SE on Friday, can't wait

Just signed up and had a look around the site, particularly the Griso Photo's page
Some great ideas there.

Is there anything I should know right from the off? any major do's or dont's ?

I have noticed quite a few references to "The Registry Tab", but I can't see one, where is it meant to be? :?

Looking forward getting to know you guys, and asking all the typically annoying newbie questions ;)

Welcome Grommitt from an SE owner in Worcestershire, you won't see many SE Grisos in the UK, took me almost a year to find a used one, I would be interested to know how many are registered in the UK.

Welcome! Top tips for a new Griso owner.....get the suspension set up properly, seal the speedo sensor and use a specialist dealership for services not a "motorcycle supermarket" that has little experience of the brand.

Use the recommended Full Synthetic 10W60 Oil no matter what ANY dealer tells you, Either AGIP, Moterex or Motul will do. "It's what we have always used " doesn't cut it any more the 8V is a different breed.

Hi Grommitt

Welcome from a Griso 8v rider in Scotland! My advice is to ride it a lot, then ride it some more. I have had no problems at all from this great bike... except for the one occasion that water affected the speedo sensor, but that cleared itself up after 30 minutes.

Is it from A&D in Denbigh? They are MG dealer.
I was in there on Friday, saw a few new bikes incl the new Stelvio and a few Griso's.

Thanks for the great responses guys.

I'd heard about the speedo sensor, what do you use? silicon sealant?

There's a company in Wrexham that set's up suspension I'll give them a call.

No, I'm getting it from Motostrada in Shipley, they had the one I wanted in stock (Green SE) whereas A&D didn't, plus Motostrada were willing to haggle a bit on the price and offered me more for my part ex.
I will be using A&D for servicing, parts etc. though as they are only 5 minutes up the road from me

Only 3 days to go. :)

Congrats on the pending purchase! You will love the Griso. No need to take the bike anywhere to set the suspension up, just read through "the" suspension thread and try out one of the settings suggested that matches your weight. All of the suspension settings other than sag are very easy to do yourself, and will make a huge improvement in the handling of the bike. Also make sure your tire pressures are correct.
Just spend a few hours reading through the Griso posts on this forum and you should have all your bases covered!
Don't forget to post some pics after you pick it up!

Hi , i'm a Griso 1100 newbie . Took a gamble and bought mine unseen on ebay . Bike was in Hemel Hempstead , i'm on lancs/yorks border. Went down on train to Kings Cross then another from Euston to H H . Had money in a bum bag (£4000).Met the vendor and bike luckily was as advertised with only 8000 miles . If it had been a pile of crap then i would have given him gbh of the earhole and caught the train back . Rode it back up M1 then onto M6 . This was at half term last October with loads of traffic on the Mway. It's an 06 model and an absolute belter . Had to get rid of the Saturn 5 rocket exhaust . Rode it off and on through winter at weekends , and last weekend i went up to John o' Groats on it with two riding mates . We did over 1100 miles from Friday morning to Sunday teatime . Bike is superb on the twisties and will cruise all day at 95 /100 on the motorway (allegedly!) As you can gather i'm more than happy with it , and as a long time Buell X1 rider it comes close to this with the grin factor . Looking forward to some good Guzzi interaction now that i've been officially processed. :D

Hi mate - hopefully won't be jealous for long, as should be getting the same bike in the next 3 or 4 months :)

We'll have to get out for a ride sometime, as I'm not that far away :)
